Ice Hole on a phone: the angler sits in an orange tent beside a fresh ice hole on Pine Lake, with the sonar unit scanning at 10 metres

How it plays

Four moves.
About two minutes.

Each session is a short trip onto the ice. Catch, sell the haul, upgrade your gear, and go back out for something bigger.

  1. A freshly drilled hole in the ice in front of the angler's tent

    Drill

Drilling is a hands-on mini-game, and every auger plays differently: crank the hand auger, rip the powered one, or bring in the hydraulic rig.

  2. The gear screen showing drills, a sonar unit with fish on screen, rods and reels

    Read the sonar

Five sonar tiers. A better unit sees deeper and shows you what is down there before you commit to a spot.

  3. The angler fishing from inside the Fish House Cabin, line in the water through a hole in the floor

    Hook

Drop the line, watch for the bite and strike at the right moment. A warmer shelter brings the bites sooner.

  4. The catch screen: a 12.40 kilogram northern pike from Pine Lake, marked as a new personal best

    Fight

Work the drag and land it. Sell the catch for coins, log it in your journal and put the money into better gear.

Gear that changes the game

Upgrades are not just bigger numbers. A new auger changes how you drill, a new sonar changes what you see, and a new shelter changes how fast the fish come.
